内容简介:
Field Guide for Psychological Emergencies is a quick reference source for rapid intervention and mitigation of psychologically based field emergencies. The guide provides a user-friendly, cross-referenced, pragmatic reference guide to a variety of psychological maladies that are encountered by emergency services personnel and a variety of other public service professionals. The field guide provides the user with a quick, easy-to-use source that offers pertinent information that is required to successfully mitigate incidents involving people suffering from mental disorders. The field guide will be used as a supplement to the main texts used to cover Module 4, Medical Emergencies (which addresses behavioral emergencies) at the EMT-Basic level and the content in Module 6, Special Considerations of the DOT National Standard Curriculum. This module covers Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Abuse and Neglect and Patients with Special Challenges. Field Guide for Psychological Emergencies will cover content necessary to address the section on Patients with Special Challenges. In addition to supplementing the core textbook used to cover behavioral emergencies in the EMT-Basic courses and Patients with Special Challenges at the Paramedic level, this field guide is designed to be used in the field as a quick reference for EMTs and Paramedics as they encounter psychological emergencies.
