This book is more than a practice guide. We hope that by presenting the fundamental principles and pointing out the pitfalls in applying radiation thermometry in various settings, our readers will gain knowledge in: the proper selection of the type of thermometer; the best practice in using the radiation thermometers; awareness of the error sources and subsequent appropriate procedure to reduce the overall uncertainty; and, understanding of the calibration chain and its current limitations.
