THE VETERINARY TECHNICIAN'S POCKET PARTNER is designed to cover a multitude of courses and also to help prepare veterinary technician students for licensure exams after graduation. The reviewers note that the book would be useful, required, or recommended in the following courses, particularly those without a textbook and a significant lab/clinical component: Small Animal Medicine Caged Bird Medicine Small Animal Nursing I and II Large Animal Nursing I and II Surgery Technology Anesthesia and Analgesia Hospital Practices and Procedures All veterinary technician students take all of these courses prior to graduation. This textbook would also serve as a reference for veterinary technicians in clinical practice. Of the two educational markets into which this book is expected to sell, the largest is the post-secondary two-year veterinary technology market. The total number of students currently enrolled in the more than 100 accredited veterinary technician and technology programs nationwide is approximately 6000. Thirty-five hundred new students enroll annually. This gives us a total student population required to take this course over a 4.5 year period (the life of this edition) at 15,750.
